Durante la celebración de los Premios Grammy 2022, el presidente ucraniano Volodymyr Zelensky tuvo una sorpresiva participación en la que contó sobre la situación actual de su país, haciendo un llamado a la paz.
Los vestidos y trajes se guardan, luego de que este domingo 3 de abril se realizaran los Premios Grammy 2022, uno de los reconocimientos más importantes de la música, que tuvo lugar en el MGM Grand Garden Arena de Las Vegas, reuniendo a grandes artistas de la industria.
La 64° edición de los Premios Grammy fue conducido por segundo año consecutivo por el comediante y anfitrión de The Daily Show, Noah Trevor, quien en su monólogo de apertura bromeó sobre el tenso momento vivido durante los Oscar y que durante varios días nos dejó diversos memes: la cachetada de Will Smith a Chris Rock.
Y así fue como el comediante terminó diciendo que iban a “mantener los nombres de las personas fuera de sus bocas”. Sabia decisión, ¿no?
Momentos más tarde el presentador prometió una noche agradable a la audiencia, diciendo “Ni siquiera piensen que es un evento de premiaciones. Esto es un concierto donde estaremos dando premios”. Y nadie puede contradecirle.
La ceremonia de los Premios Grammy 2022 incluyó las presentaciones de J Balvin, BTS, Lil Nas X, Silk Sonic, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Jon Batiste, Olivia Rodrigo, H.E.R., Maverick City, Aymée Nuviola, entre otros, incluyendo a la artista chilena Mon Laferte, quien se presentó antes de la transmisión oficial en la Premiere Ceremony.
EL LADO SOLEMNE DE LOS GRAMMY 2022
Pero en medio del ambiente festivo, la ceremonia no podía ser ajena a lo que ocurre en el otro lado del mundo. Y así se vio tras la sorpresiva aparición del presidente de Ucrania, Volodymyr Zelensky, quien a través de un video habló sobre la guerra que hoy vive su país: “Nuestros músicos usan chalecos antibalas en lugar de esmóquines, le cantan a los heridos en los hospitales”.
Además, Zelensky pidió apoyo a quienes escuchaban, y añadió en su mensaje: “Estamos combatiendo a Rusia, que trae el horrible silencio con sus bombas. El silencio de la muerte. ¡Llenemos ese silencio con la música! (…) Cuenten la verdad sobre esta guerra en sus redes sociales, en televisión. Apóyenos de la manera que puedan, sea como sea, pero no desde el silencio”.
El discurso fue seguido por una interpretación de “Free” del cantante John Legend, junto a los artistas ucranianos Mika Newton, Lyuba Yakimchuk y Siuzanna Igidan, y acompañado de un coro góspel.
Finalmente, los Premios Grammy 2022 -y como todos los años de su realización- sostuvo su apartado especial “In Memoriam” para recordar a los artistas fallecidos en el último año.
Sin embargo, antes de empezar, Trevor Noah comentó que en ese momento, y según a la planificación original, venía la presentación de Foo Fighters, pero tras el fallecimiento de su baterista, Taylor Hawkins, eso no sería posible.
Así, se dio inicio a un pequeño homenaje en su nombre que abrió el segmento, donde Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Ben Platt y Rachel Zegler interpretaron un conmovedor conjunto de canciones del fallecido compositor Stephen Sondheim, reconocido en el teatro musical por sus composiciones.
